I was promised 24 hour notice before pick up or delivery. Pick up went fine.
I got a call around 930pm wanting me to meet the driver along a highway at 11pm that night.
I refused. The car was delivered to my driveway the next morning. It was salt encrusted but seemed fine. When I consigned the car it had 3/4 of a tank of gas. It was delivered absolutely empty and had not been driven even 20 miles.
If I was supposed to consign my car with a low or empty tank, I was never told so. Further this is the third time I've shipped a car. No one ever messed with the gas before. As I see it someone basically stole 20 gallons of premium gas.

| Mr. Zech was not promised 24 hours notice for pickup or delivery. He was advised in writing of 6 to 24 hours notice for pickup only. It is so stated in the contract. That the driver gave Mr. Zech two hours notice for delivery, which was not enough notice for Mr. Zech, is not a failing of any sort. It would make some customers happy to receive the car on that day, even though it was at night. That he did not see it that way is fine – the driver accommodated his wishes and delivered the next day. His statement about ‘missing gas’ does not make sense. The vehicle was released by Ralph or Betty Zech in Eumclaw, WA. By contract, there is supposed to be less than ¼ tank of gas in the vehicle at pickup, which is what seems to have been done by the release customers in Washington. If Ed Zech feels someone with his transport company stole his gas, it should have been discussed with the company when it arrived to him in Maryland, which was the delivery point where he was. If Mr. Zech personally released the vehicle in Eumclaw, WA and personally saw that it had ¾ tank of gas, then he violated the contract he signed when he placed his order. |
