Specialty Mobile System did a great job arranging for shipment of my vehicle. Pioneer was the assigned shipment company. Pioneer did not call to give me 24 hour advanced notice for pickup. I called Specialty Mobile to ask what was going on. Specialty Mobile handled the situation, contacted Pioneer's dispatch and then Pioneer called me to tell me they would pick up the car the following day. Later that same evening (the evening before they said they would pick up the car) the driver called my wife and told her he would be there in a couple hours. My wife was uncomfortable with meeting on short notice and while it was dark. The driver insisted that he had to pick up the vehicle that night. My wife reluctantly met the truck at a closed grocery store parking lot and gave the car to Pioneer's driver. The car arrived in San Diego 9 days later (which was on time) with no damage and no weird issues. Specialty Mobile did their job very well. I would not recommend Pioneer to ship your car though. This is the third car I've shipped with Specialty Mobile and have had nothing but professional and prompt service from them. Coincidentally, Pioneer also moved my other cars without any issues. Maybe this was an extenuating circumstance on Pioneer's part?
