| Transport Services - Would Not Use Again |
I wish I could give Transport Services a glowing review like these others, but I can’t.
I signed a contract with Cory Hecht, owner of Transport Services to deliver a car from FL to CA.
Cory was always nice on the phone (when I could get through), but getting information was like pulling teeth.
The burden of being informed about the carrier was all on me. I was stonewalled on the certificate of insurance.
The real pisser came when I found out the broker had contracted the carrier for more money without telling me.
I learned about it from the driver, who said to have a check ready for more than the bank check I had drawn up.
To his credit, Cory returned the overage (we’re only talking $25), but still, what a lousy way to do business.
As promised, this is the best review I can provide.
TRANSACTION TIMELINE
5/20/08 – Contract signed. Estimated pick-up is 5/26. I am clear that I will need a cert. of insurance
5/27/08 – I am told they will pick up the car Saturday, 5/31/08
5/28/08 – I ask who “they” are, and for their certificate of insurance
5/29/08 – I’m told “you have nothing to worry about, and all the information I have is what I gave you”
5/29/08 – Only after insisting, am I given a name and # of the carrier – Eastbay Auto Transport, CA
5/30/08 – Again I ask for the carrier’s certificate of insurance
5/31/08 – Saturday comes and goes. The car does not get picked up. Just as well, I still have no cert.
6/02/08 – I am sent a certificate for a carrier in Utah, not the one being used
6/02/08 – Again I ask for the certificate, this time the right one. He never sends it.
6/02/08 – I ask the carrier for their certificate. They send it.
6/02/08 - The policy numbers on the cert. are “TBD,” but at least now I know who the insurer is
6/02/08 – I ask the insurer for a certificate. FINALLY I get a real one for the right carrier!
6/02/08 – The car finally gets picked up just as the dealer is closing for the evening.
6/08/08 – The driver calls to say delivery is 6/09, and to have a check ready for more $ than agreed
6/09/08 – The carrier faxes me their order. Indeed, it says to collect more than my contract calls for
6/09/08 – Furious, I call the owner. He says “Oh ya, well I had to do that to get it picked up.”
6/09/08 – Cory wants to make a deal. Offers to pay the overage in exchange for a good review.
6/13/08 – He credits our card with the overage. Oh, and “don’t forget about the review”

| To the Customer. We would not do business with you again. As every one can see, this customer was a little annoying and picky. I am Cory, the owner, I asked Bill to leave this review because of the fact that we refunded him money that he should have paid. I guess I brought this upon myself. Sometimes when you try to do the right thing for people, they come back and do things like this. I personally would not do business with this client. I worked around the clock to make this work for him. And it Worked!!!! Most people in this business would hope to get the services that Bill got, it obviously wasn&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;#39;t good enough for him, but what are you going to do. This is business.
