Firt off let me bgin by saying that Red Carpet was the only one of about 10 companies of which a quote was requested that responded with a phone call! Becky was right up front with me about the destination location-no one wants to go to the Canadian border in north Idaho; at least not for the amount quoted by many companies. If you happen to live on an interstate and are shipping to a destination also on an interstate, the quoted shipping charges will be very close to each other. If you are shipping from or to 'nowhere', be prepared to have to entice a driver to select your trip from the nationwide posting board. Again, all of this was explained in detail by Becky.
At the time I selected Red Carpet, I had just cancelled with another broker as I had heard nothing for 3 weeks and found out that they had been 'upping the ante' (with my money) without consulting me. They indicated that once a driver had selected that trip they would give me the option of agreeing to the price they had now posted or turning it down and waiting some more. This was also a 5 star rated company so: Buyer Beware!
Becky and I negotiated a price that I could justify and posted the trip. I got a call the next afternoon saying that the car would be picked up that day. The driver notified me that the car was loaded and with daily updates on his progress. The car was delivered on time and in good condition.
In summary, if you prefer to talk to a person right at the quote stage, be sure to ask for one from Red Carpet. They DON'T charge a booking fee UNTIL the car is loaded and they really do deliver and not just cars!
