I did a ton of research and chose a company from this site (a Silver Supporter) and received a quote. The company was located in the NW which is where I was moving to, so I thought it would be a good fit. This was 16 days before my move. The communication from this company was terrible, and after I had to initiate all the contact myself I was 3 days away from my move with nothing scheduled and very worried about driving the 2200 miles alone.
I decided to call #1 AAA Vehicle Movers because they have an office in Illinois (my originating state) and was hoping they could help me out quickly, seeing as how I had wasted 2 weeks waiting for this other company, although I wasn't expecting much. I spoke with Star at AAA on a Monday and she had everything settled by Weds so that I could go on Thursday. Because of the short turnaround, she arranged for my Jeep to be held at Able Auto Storage, Chicago (the gentlemen there were WONDERFUL) and it was picked up the next Weds and delivered to me in Oregon on Saturday. Star kept in frequent communication with me, updating me almost daily. On the delivery day, everyone involved in the transport called me and my Jeep was delivered without a hitch. I can't tell you what a huge relief this was after such a bad beginning with the other company, I really feel that Star went out of her way to help me and the other foks at the office that I spoke to were always helpful and efficient.

As a side note-once I had made it to Oregon, I received a call from a different driver who was set to pick up my Jeep. The first company had scheduled him to pick it up and had not contacted me at all, the Jeep was already on its way, and all of this 8 days after my move date and 16 days after the first contact with them. I felt bad for the driver but what were they thinking?
